Lockdown Diary - Friday 3rd April 2020
Work is still quite hectic, so I've failed to go outside for a walk again today, but I have managed to maintain my daily meditation for 20 minutes. Over the weekend I hope to do a bit better, assuming it isn't wall-to-wall rain, snow, locusts - I haven't stopped to look at the forecast, so who knows in these biblical end of days times. Things I've learned from lockdown, so far: 1. In lieu of buying a really good coffee from a well-known coffee chain every day (oh, jeez, I'd really love a decent flat white), I have finally learned how to make the best coffee using our Nespresso machine: firstly you need two capsules not one; next you need to choose the small cup setting, to get the intense espresso flavour; finally you need to add less frothed and warm milk, so the ratio is maybe close to 50:50 between coffee and milk. Then Voila! A decent coffee hit. And no, it's not too much caffeine? Bouncing off the walls? Just my natural exuberance. Honest. 2. Work...
