Nine Feet Underground

Up early again, on this occasion to allow Q to bake son #3 a birthday cake. He has requested a lemon, lime and poppy seed drizzle cake and that's what is underway. Luckily for son #3, my role is as a facilitator and nothing more.  Q is making two cakes so we can take one in to share his birthday with E in hospital. Most importantly today is son #3's birthday and we are all celebrating it with him. After present opening session number one, all six of us headed into town for a meal at a Latin American restaurant.  The food was great and after a three-course lunch (some of us at least), we headed home. Plans for the afternoon are to head to the hospital to celebrate with E and then return home with some party food for an evening of games. Only the boys and I went to hospital: Q has been working today and son #3's gf was tired and decided to stay at home. Friday has been a very busy working day, naturally, but after work, we went out for an excellent meal at an Argentinian steak house, where we ate a vegan meal. The last bit is a lie, however, there were vegan items on the menu.  We were wondering if you were a vegan, would you really be happy to eat in an Argentinian steak house, decorated in red and black, with pictures of cattle being ranched (if that is a verb) on the walls? Saturday began with an early start as we were off to Kenilworth Castle for a tour, walk and a pub lunch with some of my school friends. Our journey breaks at Upper Bucklebury a little before 9:30 a.m. (we were actually early!), where five of us pile into a friend's car for the second leg of the journey to meet up with a school friend (and his wife) in the castle car park.
