Notes from the edge. The latest bulletin. Having the freedom to use your time as you wish is not as straightforward as it might seem. God knows how many years of getting up and being driven by the clock takes a lot of unlearning. I do get up later. A bit.  My thinking, however, still struggles to draw the logical conclusion.  Today, for the first time, I decided to walk before showering (there's no rush to get it done) and take my time, having breakfast nearer to ten-thirty. I still want to maximise the use of my time, but I guess I don't need to be so clock-driven. A lot.  To that end I continue to learn German,  I have the puzzle that is ' Cain's Jawbone ' to attempt, I have courses I'm doing not to mention hobby-related stuff that is quite complex. Q's off to work whilst I'm minding the fort and, most importantly, Bagheera, the cat. How do I intend to spend my day? First off, finishing and posting my blog for yesterday. After a good chat about the impending apocalypse, how life is for both of us, and how Berlin is affected by the energy and ...

Another day begins early-ish on the south coast, though today we're heading to St. Albans for lunch in an Italian restaurant.  Are there no decent Italian restaurants nearby, I hear you cry? Well, there's more to this than meets the eye. It's not just about Italian food.  Suffice it to say we'll be joined for lunch by someone special. I haven't been to St. Albans for quite a few years, though I do have several connections with the city and I'd forgotten how old parts of it are. After a tediously slow trip around the M25, parking was unexpectedly easy and fortuitous and the restaurant was also very close by and even closer to the cathedral. We had a very enjoyable lunch with sparkling and amusing conversation before parting company and heading home. The M25 was a bit kinder on the return journey via a retail park for some important shop visits. Dinner, 'Sherwood', sleep. Repeat. Yeah Yeah Yeahs / 'Spitting Off The Edge Of The World' / 'Cool It...
