Tales From The Crypt - Friday 13th May to Sunday 15th May 2022
Friday has been a very busy working day, naturally, but after work, we went out for an excellent meal at an Argentinian steak house, where we ate a vegan meal. The last bit is a lie, however, there were vegan items on the menu. We were wondering if you were a vegan, would you really be happy to eat in an Argentinian steak house, decorated in red and black, with pictures of cattle being ranched (if that is a verb) on the walls?
Saturday began with an early start as we were off to Kenilworth Castle for a tour, walk and a pub lunch with some of my school friends. Our journey breaks at Upper Bucklebury a little before 9:30 a.m. (we were actually early!), where five of us pile into a friend's car for the second leg of the journey to meet up with a school friend (and his wife) in the castle car park.
Saturday was a glorious sunny day with blue skies, largely untroubled by clouds. We had a great walk with old friends, a guided tour, plenty of walking and chat, with a decent lunch at a local pub. After the meal, five of us headed back to Bucklebury, before we drove home for a relaxing evening. I was especially grateful to the friend who drove the leg to Kenilworth, it avoided me driving for three hours there and back in one day. much appreciated.
Sunday was in stark contrast, at least as far as the weather was concerned; lashings of rain with thunder and lightning (very, very...) promised for the night. Finished watching the final series of 'Hidden', which was suitably dark, with a few locations that reminded us of our holiday in Portmeirion, especially the Menai Strait.
Weekends come and weekends go, and it'll be back to an alternate reality tomorrow, then work on Tuesday. I, for one, cannot wait. (My words say one thing, but my meaning is the reverse)
