It is amazing how the brain can turn the slightest positive event into a complete life-changing story, when in fact it just was one small isolated positive thing.  It leaks over from Wednesday into Thursday and then gradually the one event returns to being that:Outer Acid becomes Inner Acid.

40th Anniversary of 'In the Land of Grey and Pink'

A recent email from the Caravan Information Service alerted me to the imminent (30th May) release of a 40th Anniversary deluxe edition of 'In the Land of Grey and Pink'. Given all the extra tracks that were added to the remastered versions of the albums Caravan recorded for the DERAM (Decca) label, not to mention the extras surfaced on the 4CD Decca anthology ('The World is Yours') released last year, I did wonder what they could find to fill the 3 disc release. Well, there's not a huge amount of new material, however probably enough nuggets for the fan of the band or album.  Disc one contains a new remastering of the original album, plus an unreleased mix and two unreleased versions of tracks from the album.  Disc two includes some more unreleased versions and mixes, of which the version of 'Nigel Blows A Tune' is potentially the most interesting. Love, Poetry and Revolution - Sunday 2nd July 2023

A late-ish start (late for me, at least) which coincided with a call with Q, who is also still in bed. I'm planning for a very busy day, with the hope that I can get the majority of the stuff that must be done completed, allowing me to have a chilled Monday. That's the goal! Spent most of the morning sorting stuff to take to the tip, aided by son #3. Once we've had lunch, we'll be off to the tip with all the crap we've sorted.  The vast majority of what we've sorted are cables for devices we don't have or don't use, and some the said devices. Stuff you accumulate - once it's out of sight, and all that. Back from a successful trip to the tip and I'm going to have a coffee before tackling the front and back gardens. Strimming, mowing and hedge-trimming. The excitement never ends.  I'm not a fan of gardening, in fact, as I was telling one of the carers, I believe that gardening is a form of torture devised  by Satan.  It's the strongest evid...

Tales From The Crypt - Monday 6th December 2021

Not quite the Monday I had expected, so reluctantly I had to give up yoga for this week. E is coming home from hospital and it's not absolutely clear when she'll arrive, so I'll need to set things up and coordinate with the care agency. Nevertheless I'm happy to give up yoga to get E back home again. I started the day with a walk and talk followed by a trip to the shops to pick up meds, some Christmas food shopping, especially cards, and a search for a two-person turkey crown/joint. The turkey search was unsuccessful as there seems to be far less turkey around than in previous years, perhaps because it's coming into stores later this year. After returning from the shops I was surprised by the arrival of our Christmas trees, which I wasn't expecting until the afternoon. Good job hadn't gone to yoga! I'm off to Liverpool today! Yay! Before I can go, though, I must finish packing, check E's supplies, make sure the carers know where I'll be (and all that goes with that), and make sure sons 1 and 2 are sorted and there are no outstanding questions. At around 10:30 a.m. I'm ready to hit the road (jack, though I will be coming back).  I will make a detour via the shops to post a poo sample (bowel cancer test, not hate mail, just to be clear), and buy some food and a coffee (all of which are cheaper than on the motorway).   In the supermarket, I was ambushed by a Snickers bar, so I added that to my basket too. I've arrived in L'pool, after a brief natural break. After unloading, I watch two more episodes of 'Happy Valley', series 2.  I'm not good at binge-watching (I always feel guilty about watching TV and feel I should be using my time better) and so stop at this point and read more of 'Ulysses'.
