Tales From The Crypt - Easter Holiday Special (Sunday 10th April to Monday 18h April 2022)

[Normal service will be resumed after this post, all being well!]

This is now officially the post covering the longest period of days, so far. From Monday 11th of April to Monday 18th April, we've all been away (all being yours truly, Q, sons 1, 2 and 3, along with son #1's gf - yes, six of us!) on holiday in North Wales.

First however, Sunday 10th April.  This was the gathering of the clans prior to departure in two cars on Monday. First to arrive was Q, followed by son #2's gf in the afternoon.

Before that, Q and I met a good friend of mine for lunch in the local lounge. We had a great catch up and lunch before heading home to finish my packing and make sure my sons are on track too.

We'd already agreed to get a takeaway for dinner so we'd have plenty of time to get organised. The general consensus was Italian and so Q, one of my sons, and I set off to collect it.

We all ate dinner together, watched some TV and got ready for bed as we have an early start tomorrow.

[Monday 11th]

The convoy set off a little later than planned and headed, via a fuel stop, for North Wales.  Son #1 and his gf went in Q's car while sons 2 and 3 joined me in mine, with us leading the way as I (and my SatNav) know the way.

Several stops later we arrived at our destination and got settled in, ahead of a meal in the hotel on our first night.  We are self-catering, but we do have several meals planned in the hotels.

[Tuesday 12th through Sunday 17th]

I'm not going to detail what we did every day, but suffice to say we went for walks to the beach, visited Caernarfon Castle, Anglesey and Bangor, Black Rock sands, played card games together, and more.  There are a few things we'd like to have done that we didn't have time to do - we did spend some of the time chilling (something I for one really needed) - and I guess there's a chance we'll be back!

On Sunday evening we went for a final meal in the hotel, which was a good way to end the week.

[Monday 18th]

Up early to finish packing with a planned 10 a.m. departure. Long drive home on Easter Monday expecting to hit traffic!

Which we did! Got home about an hour later than I'd hoped, especially as one of our party has more driving to do, still.

Everyone agreed it was a great week, which it certainly was - first family holiday in three years too.

In the evening we had a takeaway as everyone wanted a lazy evening, especially the driver!

Chat with Q before sleep - back to work tomorrow 😐
