Tales From The Crypt - Thursday 17th November 2022

Another busy day ahead, so you'll not hear a peep.

Power has remained stable all day.  Makes you realise how much you take it for granted.  For how much longer?

Drinks with the Idler returns and tonight's guest speaker is Jonathan Coe, author of novels including, 'The Rotters' Club', 'What a Carve Up! and, most recently, 'Bourneville'. He was very interesting about politics, writing and other themes.  I got to ask him a question about musical connections to his novels - 'The Rotter's Club' is named after an album by Hatfield & The North (which I'm sure you knew 😉) and music features greatly in that novel.  I came away with two music recommendations: one classical (Herbert Howells) and another, Vinny Peculiar, who isn't.

After the talk, there was a chat amongst friends before we all quit and I went for dinner.

Son #1 and I ate together while watching Frankie Boyle, which was full of laughs, as usual.

The end is nigh, so off for a chat, poem, Idler magazine, music and sleep.
