Tales From The Crypt - Saturday 1st October 2022

It's the first of October. Octopus. Octagonal. The Eight Legged Groove Machine.

The sun is out. Rain be gone.  I started the day in search of a Guardian, after which we headed across the road to Q's new house to continue the gargantuan task of unpacking, moving and organising.

We've set ourselves a goal of making the house workable for Monday when Q starts her new job.  Essentially this means a workable kitchen, a bedroom, a living room/lounge and maybe access to the dining room table for working, eating etc.

Today is also the first day of students' moving-in weekend so the campus is swamped with very young-looking people and their parents.  The campus is getting very lively.

Once we'd had enough for the day we went back to the lodge for our final night. Tomorrow we're in the new house come what may. We've met a few of Q's neighbours and they seem very friendly, so all-in-all a good start.

Q made a chicken curry which we ate while watching a film, tonight's being 'No Country For Old Men'.  Nice to be made welcome.

Still my back aches. Sleep beckons.
