Tales From The Crypt - Saturday 8th October 2022

Slept well, but my back is still painful. The drugs don't work. Not a great start to the day as I've been invited to a 'yellow'-themed birthday party by one of the Thai carers. On the one hand I really want to go as it will be fun and I don't like missing out on opportunities to socialise.  Set against that, my back is still painful, and so I'd not be able to dance, nor sing (be thankful for small mercies), and would probably have to sit in the corner, in my yellow shirt under a blanket.  No fun for anyone, least of all me. I'm wrestling with a decision, but have to make one and stick to it.

After I've been shopping with son #3 (supplies for his return to uni) I'll make a decision about tonight.

Back from shopping, where my role was driving and paying, all the heavy lifting etc being son #2's job, and the experience has made my decision for me.  My back's still crap and I'll not be going tonight. Shame 😞😞

Ancient Thai customs associate the day of the week you were born on with a colour, and yellow is associated with Monday, the day of the week that Fon was born on.  I bought a yellow shirt especially for the occasion, yellow not featuring in my wardrobe.   I decided to wear the shirt and send Fon a video message in yellow.  Before you ask, I'm orange. Another colour that doesn't feature in my wardrobe, well apart, obviously, from my Tango (drink) man suit ('You Know When You've Been Tango'd')  (N.B. If you think I've broken my rule about explicitly naming people by referring to 'Fon', this is not actually her real name, just the name the carers and I refer to her by, it's more of an affectionate word like, 'bro' or 'luv' (ouch), so fear not!)

Despite my back sitch, I am helping son #3 move into his new uni flat this afternoon, though sons 2 and 3 will be doing all the lifting. I am merely the chauffeur.  (I have the cap and everything)

Just back after moving son #3 in. I think his new flat is better than any of the previous ones and in a great location, the only downside being that he has to share a bathroom. Mind you, when I went to uni, sharing a room, never mind a shower was pretty standard ('ee when I were a lad...) The tales I could tell. It takes all sorts.

Driving back after the move gave me a chance for a one-to-one with son #2, as there are big matters to discuss.  Seemingly it went well.

We ate together and watched a colour (series 6 episode one) episode of 'The Saint', Roger Moore style (a maxim I try to live by)

An early-ish night to rest my back, and sleep will be attained via a Q-chat, 'Dracula' and BBC 6 Music.

Coosticks / 'Oceans' / (Single)

[[This is a great song made by a friend of mine and the first time I heard it, I liked it.

Give it a listen! Buy a copy! Go crazy! ]]
